Campus Meeting:

The Campus Meeting is the democratic forum that meets weekly to decide on all matters concerning the day-to-day operation of the school.

• Held every Wednesday at noon.
• All students and staff have one vote.
• Run using Parliamentary Procedure so students learn to address the Chair, make motions, second motions, debate issues and vote.
• The agenda is posted all week; students are free to list any item they wish to bring up with the Campus community.

Benefits to students:
They...
• feel empowered and respected
• learn the democratic process by experiencing it
• learn effective organization and running of a meeting
• gain listening, debating and public speaking skills
• learn discernment and gain respect for others’ desires and ideas
• are actively involved in problem-solving
• learn how to convince the community of something
• learn the value of voting and understand the weight of majority rule
